Shareholders decided to prioritise acquisition targets in Latin America and IGI consultants carried out a comprehensive screening of prospects across the continent before presenting a short list to the client and preparing a market visit for initial meetings. An investment was successfully concluded.

IGI was approached by the Chief Executive of the sovereign wealth fund to help develop and execute a strategy for disposing of non-core assets which consisted largely of international investments. A short-list of assets was drawn up and options for disposal provided.

IGI is regularly called on to advise businesses and entrepreneurs in how to approach the London capital market whether for debt or equity solutions. Risk and compliance together with sound governance strategies are often required. Until the global financial crisis started in 2008, there was a strong pipeline of IPO candidates which was replaced by clients seeking advice in corporate governance. IGI has from time-to-time cooperated with the London Stock Exchange and City of London law firms in running capital markets roadshows in Russia and CIS countries.

Working with the Kazakhstan government to support its development of an internationally-endorsed programme to reduce greenhouse gas intensity.
At the 6th Ministerial Conference on the Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific held in Astana 27 September to 2 October 2010, Kazakhstan committed to revert to Conference in 2011 with plans for a “Green Bridge” programme of policy to define and develop a green economy in Central Asia drawing on the experience of Europe and other parts of the international community. IGI consultants were engaged in developing the “Green Bridge” strategy and appropriate government model.

Advising a Central European renewable energy fund on its divestment of its non-core biogas division.

The fund owner, a major bank, decided to focus its renewable energy investments on wind, disposing of biogas and solar projects. IGI consultants were retained to appraise the biogas business and to identify potential private equity investors.
